The Last supper Art Critique

Image result for the last supperThe artwork I chose was the last supper by Leonardo Da Vinci. The medium for this artwork is Tempera, Gesso. And the date this was created during 1495-1498 the time of this art work was the renaissance period. What stands out most n this artwork is Jesus due to him being in the middle and he has the brightest color clothing compared to the other people in the artwork.
The scene shows us figures in a rectangular room with coffers on the ceiling and tapestries on either side of the room.  The room terminates at three windows on end of wall and through the windows we can see into a beautiful landscape setting. The are four sets of apostles at the table beside Jesus.
The interpretation of this was the last supper Jesus shared with his apostles in Jerusalem before his crucifixion. Leonardo showed the anxiety that occurred among the twelve disciples when Jesus announced one of them were going to betray him. To paint it Leonardo used an oil/tempera mix and applied it to a dry wall. The dimension of it is 15′ 1″ x 29′ 0.
Personally, I love this artwork. Especially because it relates to a real-life event. My aesthetic judgement is I really love the beauty and you can tell he took his time with this artwork. I feel everyone should appreciate this piece work.
